Last month, we heard from Dr. Farber on the topic of Gaming SEL and saw many innovative examples of how technology can be an effective tool for Social Emotional Learning. This month, we’re putting an equity lens on the subject of SEL & Tech and considering how both of these can play a role in Expanding the Definition of Student Success.

We’re excited to hear from Cameron White and Jason Atwood of New Schools Venture Fund. With equity at the center of all their work, today they will share insights learned from their 2019 investment cohort. These companies offer SEL-integrated programs and tools that use innovative, and largely tech-driven, approaches to expand the definition of student success.

In this session we will:

  • Learn about NSVF’s “expanded definition of student success” and investment model
  • Understand more about SEL demand as it relates to equity in education
  • Explore insights and findings from NSVF’s EDSS ed-tech cohort
  • Consider where new needs are emerging as it relates to SEL, ed- tech & equity
